This kind of hat is used in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan and others
(Caucasus, Central Asian countries and Turkmen tribes in Iran). In Caucasus region, it is called "papakha".
Also known has the "Caucasian karakul hat" or sheep-herder’s hat. All-season hat from natural sheep wool.
The fine accessory, warm in winter cool in summer, approaches both to men and women, the National headdress of
the region of Khoresm, Uzbekistan. In Ukraine, karakul hat is used by Cossacks in winter. In Georgia its
considered a traditional fur hat. The Turkmens call this fur hat the "telpek." Under such a heavy-looking,
but actually light cap, creates a special microclimate, this headgear saves from overheating in the summer sun,
